Visa sets up 6 capability hubs at Paya Lebar centre

The centre will house over 1,500 professionals in cybersecurity and engineering.

Visa is establishing six capability hubs in Singapore that will develop commerce technologies for deployment across its global network.

The hubs will be housed at Visa’s new solution centre at Paya Lebar Green, which will bring together more than 1,500 professionals across technology, product, cybersecurity, engineering, and innovation.

Together, they span three strategic domains: artificial intelligence and commerce; next-generation payments; and trust, security, and resilience.

Teams at the centre will work with partners including DBS, DCS, FOMO Pay, Nium, and StraitsX to develop and scale the technologies.

Visa is also participating in the central bank’s Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency (BLOOM) initiative and engaging with academic and research institutions on emerging technologies, including quantum computing.

“Visa’s latest investment in six global capability hubs here will create new high-value jobs for Singaporeans,” said Beng Kong Pee, executive vice president of the Singapore Economic Development Board.

“It will also bolster Singapore’s role in developing innovative financial products and solutions in areas such as agentic commerce and quantum,” he added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
