HealthTech startup ThoughtFull bags US$1.1m in seed round

The mental health app is available in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Digital mental health startup ThoughtFull has raised $1.49m (US$1.1m) in an oversubscribed seed round.

The funding round was led by The Hive SEA, Flybridge, and Vulpes Investment Management along with several unnamed angel investors.

ThoughtFull’s mobile app, ThoughtFullChat and ThoughtFullChat Pro enables users to a access to personalised mental healthcare. With a focus on better stress, anxiety, and depression management, ThoughtFullChat is the first port-of-call for users to seamlessly access end-to-end mental healthcare from preventive solutions such as self-serve tools and 1-on-1 daily bite-sized coaching with best-fit certified mental health professionals, to curative solutions such as therapy.

ThoughtFullChat Pro on the other hand, is a one-stop platform for mental health professionals to build a digital practice that is insights-based, data-driven, and scalable.

According to Joan Low, founder and CEO of  Thoughtful, the fresh funds will be used to boost the startup's growth as well as fund clinical research and product developments.

“Even before the pandemic, ThoughtFull has always set out to change the conversation around mental health from awareness to action. However, the infrastructure is still nascent and there is much to do to smoothen out the process for people to proactively engage with their mental wellbeing. We are thus thrilled to receive such overwhelming support to build a future where access to end-to-end mental healthcare is not only affordable, but seamless. Our investors and stakeholders are a reflection of ThoughtFull’s ability to draw on global insights to drive local applications,” Low said.

ThoughtFull was founded in 2019 and its app is currently available in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines with plans to expand to new markets across Southeast Asia.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
