Singaporeans need to spend 8.4 days of income to afford the latest iPhone: report

This is twice longer than that of the average Swiss.

The average Singaporean will have to work for 8.4 days without spending anything else to afford an iPhone 11 Pro 64GB, according to aggregator website Picodi.

This is two days shorter than that of last year with iPhone XS 64GB.

This is based on the official price of the phone in the country at $1,649, and the average gross monthly salary reported by the Ministry of Manpower to be at $5,410.

Meanwhile, the average Swiss will only need 4.8 working days, whilst on the inverse the average Mexican will have to spend 54.2 days worth of income to buy one.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
