Around 9 in 10 IT leaders aim integrate AI in business functions

AI is used in digital infrastructure management and sales, amongst others.

A survey by Colt Technology Services found that 90% of decision-makers in Singapore’s information technology (IT) field are already using or are planning to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) in their development roadmaps.

Amongst business functions, the survey showed that 52% of Singapore companies are using AI for digital infrastructure management and operations. Around 43% are planning to use it for digital infrastructure management and 39% are planning to integrate it into their operations.

These are followed by sales and marketing functions with 50% of the companies using AI and 42% planning to use it.

“2023 will be remembered as the year generative AI went mainstream, dominating conversations in cafes, on the sidelines of sports pitches, in homes and in the workplace, so this year we’ve refocused our digital infrastructure report to track AI’s monumental impact on businesses,” Colt CEO Keri Gilder said.

Other business functions AI is adopted include human resources, security, research & development, risk management, service/product delivery, training staff, customer experience, fraud detection, data analysis, and using a custom AI platform.

Colt also said that the results showed the high potential for digital infrastructure to support various business goals such as ESG commitments and employee retention.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
