BDx breaks ground on 640MW AI data centre campus in West Java

Singapore-headquartered BDx Data Centers has broken ground on a 640 megawatts (MW) artificial intelligence (AI) data centre campus in Jatiluhur, West Java, Indonesia.
The AI Campus 2 (CGK4) is backed by 845 megavolt-amperes of grid capacity from Indonesian state utility PLN and is expected to be developed over three years.
The campus will comprise six buildings, which will be commissioned sequentially.
BDx said construction has started on Building 1, which will provide 120MW of IT capacity in phases, with the first contracted phase expected to enter service in early 2027.
The facility will use direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is designed to support rack densities of up to 500 kilowatts.
CGK4 forms part of the company’s broader AI-focused expansion in the country, which is supported by a $408.1m (US$320m) loan facility secured this year.
