Grab obtains Data Protection Trustmark certification from IMDA

It's the first super app to be awarded the certificate.

Grab has obtained a Data Protection Trustmark (DPTM) certification from  Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), making it the first super app to be awarded one.

A DPTM certificate is awarded to organisations that have stringent data protection policies and processes.

"Achieving the DPTM certification is a way in which we hold ourselves accountable to our users who trust us in handling their data, and also validates our efforts in ensuring data protection and compliance," Yee Wee Tang, country head of Grab Singapore, said.

"We hope that this level of rigorous assessment also builds trust among our consumers so that they can have peace of mind when they choose to use our platform," the official added.

Over the years, Grab has invested in data protection by employing over 300 skilled professionals to manage cybersecurity and personal data protection programmes; and partnering with independent consultants to conduct privacy assessments, among others.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
