SGX adds Polaris Futures as trading member

It will participate in the derivatives market and will focus on Taiwan trades.

Polaris Futures is the first listed futures company in Taiwan and will help connect local investors to Asian issuers through SGX, the exchange said in a release announcing in the member induction.

“We are delighted that Polaris Futures has chosen to be a Trading Member in our derivatives market, supporting our customers in Taiwan by providing easy access to Asia via Singapore. With the continuing trend of increased volume of our Asian derivatives, we are not only seeing greater trading participation, but also strong interest in taking up SGX membership from broking firms in North Asia,” said Mr Chew Sutat, Head of Sales & Clients at SGX

With this newest addition, SGX now has 39 Trading Members in the derivatives market, up 26% from 31 members last year, with 37 Clearing Members. Meanwhile, its securities market now has 30 Trading Members and 29 Clearing Members, SGX noted.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
