iFAST debuts as ETF issuer with four SGX listings

They offer exposure to Japanese, South Korean, and Taiwanese stocks.

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has listed four iFAST Xtrackers UCITS exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on 22 October, giving investors access to the equity markets of Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Launched by homegrown financial services group iFAST, the ETFs also give investors exposure to companies in the global artificial intelligence and big data theme.

All four ETFs are traded in Singapore dollars and are eligible under the Supplementary Retirement Scheme.

The iFAST Xtrackers Nikkei 225 UCITS ETF tracks Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average Index, whilst the MSCI Korea and MSCI Taiwan ETFs track their respective MSCI 20/35 Custom Indexes. The Artificial Intelligence & Big Data ETF tracks the Nasdaq Global Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Index.

Their overall total expense ratios range from 0.43% to 0.77%.

The launch marks iFAST’s debut as an ETF issuer, expanding its role beyond providing investment products through its brokerage platform.

Standard Chartered serves as authorised custodian and ETF registrar.

With the listings, SGX now offers 64 ETFs spanning a range of geographies, asset classes, and investment themes, with combined assets under management of $21b.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
