ComfortDelGro JV wins $3.4b Copenhagen Metro contract
The 12-year contract covers four lines, 44 stations and 43km of track, pushing the firm's rail network past 420km.
ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited’s joint venture with RATP Dev has been selected to operate and maintain the Copenhagen Metro.
In a statement, ComfortDelGro said KBH Metro Partner’s contract covers the operation and maintenance of the fully automated network, including four lines, 44 stations and 43km of track, and will support key modernisation and renewal projects planned over the coming years.
It will run for 12 years until 2039, with an option to extend by a further three years, and is valued at around $3.4b.
The Copenhagen Metro is a driverless system that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2025, it carried 135 million passengers, a record for the network.
Contract signing is expected in September 2026, following completion of the statutory standstill period. With this selection, ComfortDelGro’s rail network in operation and under mobilisation will exceed 420 kilometres, around five times the network when it first expanded its rail business overseas.
This is the third ComfortDelGro - RATP Dev collaboration on automated metro projects.
