EMA releases cross-government Solar Demand Aggregation Framework
This will allow agencies to pursue flexible and innovative solar deployment.
The Energy Market Authority (EMA) launched a government-wide Solar Demand Aggregation (DA) Framework to boost deployment of solar energy technologies across government premises on 27 October.
Under the framework, a panel of solar photovoltaic (PV) installers will assess the solar potential of various government premises and develop tailored deployment proposals.
This is expected to create more opportunities for the solar industry and provide government agencies greater flexibility to pursue solar deployment, the EMA said.
EMA said that the framework will also help open opportunities for innovative solar solutions that make better use of Singapore’s limited space, such as solar carports and building-integrated PV.
This initiative supports Singapore’s target of achieving 4 gigawatt-peak (GWp) solar deployment by 2035, the EMA said.
It complements existing solar projects in the country, including the Housing & Development Board’s SolarNova programme and JTC’s SolarRoof and SolarLand initiatives.
