PIL names Wan Chee Foong as new deputy CEO

He will succeed Lars Kastrup as CEO in April 2027.

Pacific International Lines has appointed Wan Chee Foong as its new deputy CEO, effective 5 October, ahead of his succession as CEO next year.

Wan will succeed CEO Lars Kastrup in April 2027.

He currently serves as managing director of corporate strategy at Temasek, having previously spent nine years there from 2003 to 2012 working in transportation and logistics and supporting the establishment of SeaTown Holdings.

Wan also held senior operating roles at PSA International, including regional CEO for the Middle East and South Asia and head of group business and commercial development.

He also served as CEO of PSA BDP, PSA’s global supply chain solutions business, and was a member of PSA International’s Senior Management Council from 2014 to 2025.

Wan is an independent director of Bahri, the national shipping company of Saudi Arabia, and sits on the board of Singapore’s National Council of Social Service.

During the six-month handover period, Wan will work alongside Kastrup and the senior leadership team, progressively assuming responsibility for the group’s commercial, operational, and strategic priorities.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
