Get set to bid on a new Northern Singapore road tender

The project involves linking Tampines Expressway and Yishun Avenue 6 by 2015.

Construction for the new interchange expansion -- which will add a dual lane to the Central Expressway (CTE), Tampines Expressway (TPE), and Seletar Expressway (SLE) -- is expected to start in 3Q 2012.

"As part of this new road link, Land Transport Authority (LTA) will construct a new dual 2-lane road between Yishun Avenue 6 and Yishun Avenue 1, remark a stretch of Yishun Avenue 1 from dual 1-lane to dual two lanes and widen the existing Seletar West Link from dual 1-lane to dual 3-lanes," said the LTA in a release.

Alongside this project, the CTE/TPE/SLE Interchange will be expanded, an improvement designed to better connect the areas of Yishun Town, the Seletar Aerospace Park and the expressway network.

"As part of this expansion project, four new vehicular flyovers will be constructed. In addition, five new road connections will also be created to improve the connectivity between the expressway and the road network," LTA said.

"The CTE/SLE/TPE Interchange expansion project has been awarded to Or Kim Peow Contractors (Private) Limited at a contract value of $75 million," it added.

"When the two new road projects are completed, motorists can look forward to better connectivity and faster travelling time between the three connecting expressways, Yishun Town and SAP. For example, motorists travelling from Yishun Town to CTE can expect a time savings of up to 10 mins. The completion of the new road link will also improve traffic conditions along Lentor Avenue and Yishun Avenue 2," it said further.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
