COE quota to edge up 1.1% for November to January
Category B rises 3.3% to 5,707, whilst Category A holds at 7,134.
The supply of Certificates of Entitlement (COE) available from November to January 2027 will inch up 1.1% to 19,298, according to the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The figure is 213 more than the 19,085 offered from August to October this year.
The quota includes replacement COEs calculated from 25% of effective vehicle deregistrations between October 2025 and September.
The quota also includes a provision for 0.25% annual growth in the Category C vehicle population, covering goods vehicles and buses.
COEs for Category A, which covers smaller, less powerful cars and electric vehicles, remained at 7,134.
Meanwhile, COEs for Category B, used to register larger, more powerful cars and EVs, rose 3.3% to 5,707 from 5,527 in the preceding period.
The number of certificates for Category C and Category E (open) also increased by 2% to 1,873 and by 3.7% to 1,580, respectively.
Only Category D, reserved for motorcycles, recorded a decrease, dipping 2% to 3,004 from 3,065.
LTA said the COE quota is not affected by the ongoing review of COE categorisation for cars.
Bidding under the quota will start on 2 November.
