Gojek Singapore launches GoCar Nearby for short off-peak trips

It applies to trips under 5km, with fares capped at $9.90.

Gojek Singapore has introduced GoCar Nearby, a new service type offering capped fares for short trips booked during off-peak daytime hours.

The service is currently available across parts of eastern and north-eastern Singapore, with eligible fares capped at $9.90.

GoCar Nearby applies to trips under 5km booked during off-peak daytime hours.

When a trip meets the location, distance, and time criteria, the option will automatically appear on the booking screen in the Gojek app.

The $9.90 cap excludes standard platform add-ons and fees, including waiting fees, cancellation fees, ERP charges, and child seat surcharges.

Commuters will continue to earn yuu Points on GoCar Nearby trips and can use their existing points balance to offset the fare.

The service is also intended to generate additional demand during quieter daytime periods.

Driver-partner earnings for GoCar Nearby trips remain based on the original fare.

The initial rollout covers Pasir Ris, Tampines, Changi Business Park, Bedok, Bedok Reservoir, Kaki Bukit, Siglap, Bayshore, Paya Lebar, Geylang, MacPherson, Eunos, Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, Serangoon, Potong Pasir, and Lorong Chuan.

Gojek said it will refine the service based on feedback from commuters and driver-partners during the initial phase, with a view to extending coverage to other parts of Singapore.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
