Our kindergarten programmes are designed to transform learning into an adventure for our kindergarteners, all while preparing them for formal schooling.
With 44 centres across the island, we provide families convenient access to quality education for children aged 5 to 6.
In Star Learners’ kindergarten programmes, we prepare children for primary school by building the skills and knowledge they require for that transition. With our proprietary Starbeam™ framework, we keep learning fun and engaging with our literature-based approach, as we harness the power of stories to create immersive learning experiences for our kindergarteners.
At all of our centres, we keep to the teacher-child ratio guidelines set by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) to ensure more opportunities for meaningful teacher-child interaction.

A DAY IN OUR KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMME
On a typical day in Star Learners, your child will be exposed to varied activities that encourage collaboration, interactions and discussions among peers.
Learning experiences are centred around featured stories from a selection of award-winning children’s literature. Lessons from the book are then amplified through active learning, where children discover concepts, explore themes, and pick up core competencies as they play with purpose.
Throughout the day, your child can look forward to fun, activity-based lessons in immersive and themed learning areas, as they develop skills and knowledge in our key learning domains.

Frequently asked questions
Our Chinese curriculum is designed to develop interest and enjoyment of the Chinese language. This is done through various interactive lessons covering games, experiments, dramatisation and needless to say, picturebooks! In K2, we further hone their language skills by introducing them to Hanyu Pinyin as they prepare for Primary School.
Besides language abilities, we also instill an appreciation of the Chinese culture via activities like calligraphy and poetry.
At our centres, videos are used strictly for educational purposes.
Our older children (N2-K2) engage with approximately six to seven videos per term, each around three minutes long. Any longer videos are shown in segments to facilitate discussion and interaction.
Being ready for primary school goes beyond academic skills. Our curriculum is aligned with the MOE’s Nurturing Early Learners Framework, giving children a strong foundation for their transition to primary school.
Academic skills aside, children also have opportunities to learn about what to expect when they enter primary school. As part of their learning experiences, some children visit primary schools and become familiar with aspects of primary school life. They also learn practical skills, such as counting money and making choices when buying food during recess.
Throughout their preschool years, children develop social and emotional skills that help them build friendships, collaborate with others, manage their emotions and become more independent. These experiences help children feel more confident as they take their next step into primary school.
