SASMO: A Showcase of Excellence

The Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) proved to be another outstanding platform for Think Academy students, who delivered exceptional performances across multiple grade levels.

In total, 106 Gold Medals were awarded to Think Academy students from Primary 1 to Primary 4 — a remarkable achievement that reflects the strength and consistency of the academy’s training.

Cross-Grade Achievements

One of the most compelling indicators of a strong educational programme is the ability of students to excel when competing above their grade level. Think Academy students demonstrated this in remarkable fashion:

K2 students stepped up to the Primary 1 competition, with one student attaining Gold and securing 1st place, while another also achieved Gold with a 22nd-place finish.

Primary 1 students showcased their advanced abilities: one took the Primary 2 exam and earned Gold, while another took the Primary 3 exam and also secured Gold.

Primary 2 students took on the Primary 3 challenge, with one earning Gold (14th place) and another achieving Gold (18th place).

Primary 4 students competed in the Primary 5 category, delivering outstanding results — one achieved Gold with a 4th-place finish, while two others earned Gold with 12th place finishes.

Top 10 and Gold Medal Breakdown by Level

The depth of talent across each grade level is evident in the detailed breakdown:

Primary 1: 7 Think Academy students placed in the Top 10, with a total of 11 Gold Medals. Two students shared the distinction of tying for 1st place.

Primary 2: 7 students secured Top 10 positions, contributing to an impressive total of 26 Gold Medals. Once again, two students tied for 1st place.

Primary 3: 8 students earned Top 10 placements, with 33 Gold Medals awarded. Two students achieved perfect scores globally.

Primary 4: 5 students placed in the Top 6, while 36 Gold Medals were earned. Two students achieved perfect scores.

Across all levels, Think Academy students demonstrated not only mathematical proficiency but also the confidence and resilience to excel under competition conditions. Elite Programme: Tailored for top-performing students, this rigorous track provides advanced training for those aiming to achieve distinction at the highest levels of competitive mathematics. It challenges students to push beyond their limits and realise their fullest potential.

Building Foundations with Joy (K2–P2)

For the youngest learners, the focus is on nurturing curiosity and confidence. Through engaging tools and carefully scaffolded activities, students begin their mathematical journey with a strong sense of enjoyment and achievement — setting the stage for a lifelong love of learning.

The Critical Transition (P3–P4)

As students enter the upper primary years, structured problem-solving frameworks become central. Mathematical reasoning deepens, and students begin to tackle more complex challenges that prepare them for the rigour ahead.

From Primary 4 onwards, Think Academy offers two additional specialised tracks:

PSLE Mathematics: Designed with a singular focus on achieving AL1, this course equips students with examination techniques, mastery of complex problem-solving strategies, and the confidence to excel in the PSLE.

PSLE Science: The Science programme goes beyond theory to bring concepts to life through hands-on experiments that deepen understanding of how and why things work. Recognising that mastery in Science requires more than conceptual knowledge, they also provide dedicated instruction on answering Open-Ended Questions (OEQ) — a key component where students often lose marks. Through structured frameworks and guided practice, students learn to articulate their reasoning clearly, accurately, and with scientific precision, ensuring they are fully prepared to excel in the PSLE.

Refining for Excellence (P5–P6)

In upper primary, students continue to refine their skills across all programmes. PSLE Mathematics and PSLE Science courses intensify their focus on exam readiness, while competition tracks prepare students for National and International Olympiads. By this stage, students have developed not only the knowledge but also the confidence and resilience to perform at their best under pressure.
