Johannesburg becomes second long-haul destination for SIA's new A350-900s

It will initially be deployed three days a week.

Singapore Airlines will deploy its new Airbus A350-900 fleet for flights to Johannesburg, South Africa starting June 27.

The A350 will initially be deployed on flights serving the Singapore-Johannesburg route on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Frequency of A350-900 services will progressively increase to cover all seven weekly Johannesburg flights, including four weekly flights which continue to Cape Town, the flag carrier said in a statement.

SIA initial batch of A350s are being fitted with 253 seats in three classes, seating 42 customers in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class and 187 in Economy Class.

The airline has previously announced that the A350-900 fleet will also be used on flights to Dusseldorf. Service will start in July.

SIA currently has two A350-900s in service and another 65 on firm order.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
