SilkAir to fly Down Under in March

The regional wing of Singapore Airlines will launch its service to Darwin, the first destination in Australia for SilkAir.

It will also increase services across parts of its route network from 25 March 2012 to 27 October 2012 as part of SilkAir's expansion plans.

SilkAir will launch two new services during this period - to Darwin, Australia, on 26 March 2012, and Wuhan, China, on 24 April 2012, subject to regulatory approvals.

The four-times-weekly service to Darwin will be SilkAir’s first destination in Australia. Meanwhile, Wuhan, which will be operated thrice weekly, will be SilkAir’s seventh destination in China.

Frequency will also be increased on selected services between Singapore and points in China, India, Indonesia and Thailand.

Services between Singapore and Changsha will increase to four-times-weekly from the current thrice weekly. Two weekly flights will be added to the Singapore-Chongqing route, making it a daily service.

In India, Bangalore services will be increased to six times weekly, from the current five times. Services between Singapore and Hyderabad will also be increased to eight times weekly, from the current seven times.

In Indonesia, flights between Singapore and Lombok, as well as those between Singapore and Pekanbaru will operate five times a week, up from the current three times.

Services to Koh Samui in Thailand will also be increased to daily from June 2012, up from the current five-times-weekly flights.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
