Fast and furious: SIA inks F1 Grand Prix sponsorship extension

It would be supporting the event until 2017.

Singapore’s flag carrier airline continues its well established support for sports in the island nation by extending its Singapore Grand Prix support for two years. SIA had been supporting the motor race phenomenon since 2014.

A report from SIA says the airline looks forward to bringing the event to the world stage in order to strengthen Singapore’s image as a world-class tourism, cultural, and sporting event city.

“The Singapore Airlines brand fits with our other Global Partners and Formula One,” said Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of Formula One Management Ltd.

“As a strong supporter of both sports and tourism, we are excited to continue as Title Sponsor of one of the most exciting races in the F1 calendar,” said SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
