The appointment will come into effect on 2 May.

SATS has appointed Timothy Tang as group chief financial officer (CFO)-designate, with effect from 2 May.

Meanwhile, Manfred Seah, the company's current group CFO, will transition to the role of Special Advisor, effective 25 July.

Tang has expertise in the business, accounting, and finance sectors, as well as previous leadership positions with a global remit.

Prior to this appointment, Tang was CFO of DFS Group. He also spent nine years in the Jardine Matheson Group where he held management, commercial, and finance roles, including as managing director of Wellcome Hong Kong and Macau.

Tang is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. He will relocate from Hong Kong to Singapore upon officially assuming his role in SATS, following the conclusion of the company’s upcoming annual general meeting (AGM).

“As we move to our next phase of growth, I look forward to welcoming Timothy as he brings fresh perspectives and a proven track record of global leadership that will strengthen our senior management team. I am confident that Timothy’s business and financial expertise managing global operations of significant scale and complexity will help drive SATS in sustaining growth and creating value, worldwide,” Kerry Mok, president and CEO of SATS said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
