Singapore inks three CSGKC deals spanning healthcare and talent

Three Singapore institutions signed new partnerships with CSGKC at the 16th SGCC meeting.

China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), a flagship bilateral cooperation project between Singapore and China, has announced three new partnerships with Singapore institutions at the 16th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC) meeting.

In a statement, CSGKC said the Singapore University of Social Sciences will partner CSGKC on senior care solutions through Aged+ Living Labs. The Singapore Institute of Technology will focus on smart healthcare technologies, applied research, robotics, and care delivery. Business China will help connect Singapore-China businesses with talent and innovation communities.

CSGKC's ecosystem includes the International Biomedicine Innovation Park, home to firms such as Akeso, BeOne Medicines, and Innocare Pharma, alongside more than 40 biopharmaceutical projects and seven hospitals and specialist healthcare facilities.

It also plans to build an International Hub for Innovative Healthcare, Medical and Wellness Services, modelled after Singapore's HealthCity Novena. The hub will offer medical care, elderly care, rehabilitation support, and medical tourism.

CSGKC sits in Guangzhou's Huangpu District, the city's leading AI hub with more than 420 AI companies and a sector valued at over $13.3b (RMB70b). The district ranks first in Guangzhou for overall computing capacity, according to the release.

The site is also anchored by Singapore-linked institutions, including the China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute, developed by Nanyang Technological University and South China University of Technology, and the NUS Guangzhou Research Translation and Innovation Institute.

"In line with the strategic priorities of both countries, we will continue to support the development of the region's healthcare capabilities and bring together expertise from both countries to foster a connected ecosystem spanning industry, research and education," said Samuel Ng, CEO at China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment & Development Co., Ltd.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
