20,000 delegates in town for sustainable development summits

Innovative urban solutions prime agenda.

Sustainability is the goal for almost 20,000 delegates who are in the country this week for three co-located global events focusing on integrated urban sustainability solutions.

The World Cities Summit (WCS), Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) and CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESS) are taking place concurrently from 1 to 5 June 2014, and were formally opened by PM Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday.

The opening ceremony was attended by more than 3000 guests, including leaders from government, business, academia and international organisations, at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

The delegates include approximately 40 Ministers and over 130 Mayors and city leaders from around the world.

The events will also feature the largest exhibition on integrated sustainable solutions with more than 900 exhibiting companies and 29 Group Pavilions across 30,000 square metres of covered exhibition space.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
