Boustead Singapore overseas unit hit by cybersecurity incident
The incident was confined to the business unit and did not affect the rest of the group.
An overseas business unit of Boustead Singapore was recently affected by a cybersecurity incident, the company said in a Singapore Exchange filing.
The business unit activated its business continuity procedures after becoming aware of the incident and engaged external cyber incident response specialists, legal advisers, and restoration providers.
It also shut down and isolated affected systems as part of its containment measures.
A full investigation has since been completed, with notifications made to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission and other authorities in the affected jurisdictions.
The business unit’s critical systems and business data have been fully recovered from backups, with no material disruption to its operations.
Boustead said the incident was limited to the business unit and did not affect other parts of the group.
As of the announcement date, the incident has had no significant or material impact on the Group’s business operations.
The Group will conduct an independent cybersecurity review as part of its response to the incident, focusing on opportunities to enhance its cybersecurity programme and systems resilience.
