COTD: More than 20% of executives cite cybersecurity as greatest threat

However, executives are feeling more confident in their ability to counter them.

More than two in 10 (26%) executives cited cybersecurity as their greatest threat, up from 24% in 2024, according to a Beazly report.

However, executives are feeling more confident in their ability to counter them as perceived resilience against cyber threats has risen from 83% in 2024 to 87% this year.

“This may indicate a false sense of security, as many organisations still lack the sustained vigilance required for genuine preparedness,” Beazely said.

Moreover, 85% believe artificial intelligence will positively impact their company's economic prospects this year.

Meanwhile, 68% anticipate AI will replace jobs within their company in the next 18 months.

Businesses are increasingly concerned about intellectual property, data privacy risks, and new regulations. However, worries about tech obsolescence have slightly decreased from 29% in 2024 to 26% this year.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
