Singapore launches AI programme to tackle construction challenges

It will offer identified industry use cases, construction sandboxes, and live project sites.

Enterprise Singapore, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and The GEAR by Kajima have launched Startup CoLab EAI to help local and international startups develop and deploy embodied artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the construction sector.

Startup CoLab EAI will help startups identify relevant industry use cases and adapt their embodied AI solutions to Singapore’s market and operational requirements, the groups said.

The programme will also enable startups to test and validate their solutions under simulated and real-world conditions at construction sandboxes, live project sites, and The GEAR building.

It will help successful startups connect with customers and investors to drive their growth and support broader industry adoption of their technologies.

The groups said the steady construction demand presents significant opportunities to adopt
technologies that can improve productivity, safety, and manpower.

The groups said Startup CoLab EAI builds on The GEAR Startup CoLab, which has completed 15 proof-of-concepts with local and international startups since its launch in April 2025.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
