Fewer investors commit over 40% to ESG in portfolios

Only 28% did so in 2023, down from 37% in 2021.

The number of investors with ESG investments in Singapore decreased in 2023 compared to 2021.

Data from AXA Investment Managers showed that only 36% of investors in Singapore have funds labelled ESG or ethical in their portfolio, lower than the 38% record in 2021.

Of those who invested in ESG funds, more than half (52%) allocated 21% to 40% of their portfolio to such investments.

Only 19% of investors allocated 41%-60% of their portfolio to ESG investments, and even fewer (6%) allocated 61%-80%.

Compared to 2021, fewer investors (28% vs 37%) allocated more than 40% of their portfolio to ESG investments.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
