MAS appoints Phua Wee Ling as assistant managing director from 2026

Before MAS, Phua worked at Citibank Singapore and the Central Provident Fund Board.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Phua Wee Ling as assistant managing director for its organisation and people development group, effective 1 January 2026.

Phua is currently the executive director for financial centre development. In her new role, she will lead the organisation and people development group, which encompasses people development, organisation development and communications, legal, corporate services, and the MAS Academy.

She succeeds Wong Zeng Yi, who will be seconded to Enterprise Singapore as assistant managing director for manufacturing. Wong has held his current post since April 2021.

Phua, 45, joined MAS in 2006, and has held roles in prudential policy, markets policy and infrastructure, and financial centre development.

Before MAS, she worked at Citibank Singapore and the Central Provident Fund Board.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
