Singlife launches Singlife Shield Starter, Singlife Health Starter Plus

Customers can add the S$1 rider to their base plan to reduce mandatory co-payments.

Singlife has launched Singlife Shield Starter and Singlife Health Starter Plus that offers more affordable medical access for an annual premium of S$300.

Singlife Shield Starter provides a basic coverage of up to S$20,000 per policy year, eligible across a network of 500 medical providers and private hospitals.

Customers can also opt to add the S$1 rider to their Singlife Shield Starter base plan to enjoy a substantial reduction in mandatory co-payments, paying only 5% of their hospital bills, Singlife said.

Premiums are payable through MediSave.

Upon reaching the age of 40, policyholders enrolled in the Singlife Shield Starter and Health Plus Starter plans will be guaranteed a seamless transition to Singlife Shield Plan 2, which offers coverage of up to S$1m, along with Singlife Health Plus Public Prime. This transition requires no further underwriting or additional medical check-ups, the insurer said.

To celebrate the launch, from 19 July to 31 October 2023, individuals signing up for Singlife Shield Starter and Health Plus Starter can enjoy a waiver of GST and net premiums of only S$1 and S$300 on their first year of premiums, respectively.

Policy applications received after 31 October will be subject to GST.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
