Grab Q2 profit surges to $235m on higher finance income

This includes a $307m gain from the consolidation of Superbank.

Grab Holdings Limited’s profit for the second quarter of 2026 increased to $235m, from $20m a year earlier.

The increase was mainly driven by a $334m rise in finance income, including a one-off $307m gain from the consolidation of Indonesia’s Superbank, as well as a $66m favourable movement in income tax expense.

This was partly offset by a $183m increase in fair-value losses on financial assets and liabilities.

Revenue rose 22% year-on-year to $997m, whilst operating profit increased to $19m from $7m.

On-Demand gross merchandise value grew 21% to $6.5b, whilst monthly transacting users increased 17% to 53.9 million.

Adjusted EBITDA rose 54% to $168m, with the adjusted EBITDA margin widening to 16.9% from 13.3% a year earlier.

Separately, Grab’s board authorised a new share-repurchase programme of up to $750m.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
