Global Logistic Properties to develop 75,000 sqm distribution centre in China

It'll partner with BMW Brilliance Automotive.

According to a release, Global Logistic Properties Limited has signed an agreement with BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. to develop their largest distribution center in China.

The 75,000 sqm (807,000 sq ft) built-to-suit facility at GLP Park Lingang in Shanghai will be developed in phases, with the first phase comprising 55,000 sqm (592,000 sq ft) GFA to commence construction this year.

Kent Yang, President of GLP China, said: “We are delighted that BMW Brilliance Automotive has chosen to partner with GLP to develop its largest distribution center in the country.

The customer already uses our facilities through other suppliers and we are excited to further strengthen our relationship. The auto parts industry is a key driver of demand for us, thanks to strong domestic consumption, and now represents 9% of our total leased area in China.”

GLP Park Lingang is a comprehensive logistics park with a total GFA of 545,000 sqm (5.9 million sq ft) spread across three square kilometres. In addition to supporting third party logistics providers and shipping companies operating in the vicinity of Yangshan Deep Water Port, the modern facilities provided by GLP Park Lingang serve as an excellent location for regional distribution.

It has convenient access to Pudong International Airport, Hongqiao Airport and Shanghai CBD. In addition, The Lingang Highway connects the park to Zhejiang Province in the South and to Jiangsu Province in the West.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
