Singapore Airlines’ passenger capacity up 9.3% in November

Passenger traffic also grew by 8.3%.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group saw 9.3% increase in passenger capacity in November 2024 compared to the previous year.

Passenger traffic grew by 8.3%, with the group’s passenger load factor (PLF) at 87.0%, down 0.8 percentage points year-on-year.

SIA’s PLF stood at 86.8%, whilst Scoot’s reached 87.4%. The two carriers transported 3.3 million passengers, a 7.5% increase from November 2023.

Cargo loads grew 10.3%, driven by higher freighter charters and increased aircraft utilisation. Cargo capacity rose 12.8%, though the cargo load factor fell 1.3 percentage points to 56.6%.

In November, SIA launched daily services to Beijing’s Daxing International Airport, increasing its China network to two points in the capital and 23 destinations in mainland China.

By the end of November, the group’s passenger network spanned 128 destinations in 36 countries. SIA served 79 destinations, Scoot served 71, and the cargo network covered 132 destinations in 37 countries.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
