Info-comms GDP share climbs to 6.3% as sector growth slows sharply

Its gross domestic product contribution also grew to $47.1b.

The information and communications (I&C) sector continued to grow strongly in 2025, with real value added (VA) rising 6.1% year-on-year, according to the Singapore Digital Economy Report 2026.

VA growth moderated from 14.2% in 2024 but remained above the overall real gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 5%.

The report, released by the Infocomm Media Development Authority in October, showed that the sector’s GDP contribution increased to $47.1b in 2025 from $42.8b in 2024, lifting its share to 6.3% from 5.9%.

The sector was amongst the fastest-growing in terms of real VA, ranking behind manufacturing, which grew 8.7%, and alongside wholesale trade, which also grew 6.1%.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
