Final settlement not accepted by GuGong: No Signboard

It was open for acceptance until 5 p.m. on 21 June 2023.

No Signboard disclosed that its final settlement offer was not accepted by its controlling shareholder, GuGong, after the offer was closed on 21 June, 5 p.m.

“As at the deadline, there was no acceptance of the Final Settlement Offer, although the Company had received requests for clarifications from GuGong,” read the statement.

The group was disappointed that it was not accepted by the deadline, “in particular, as Option A represents the reinstatement of the original agreements which were terminated.”

In addition to the mediation, NoSignboard said it has tried to reach out to Mr Lim on various occasions, including through the efforts of the Independent Directors.

The company said will continue to engage GuGuong and its lawyer in the discussion with a view to reach an in-principle agreement by 26 June 2023 (Monday).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
