First REIT makes first acquisition this year

The property has additional healthcare spaces and a retail mall.

A property in Buton Island, Indonesia adds to First REIT's list after the company won an agreement with its sponsor, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk.

According to OCBC’s market reports, the property will have Siloam Hospitals Buton with supplementary healthcare-related spaces and a retail mall, Lippo Plaza Buton.

First REIT plans to fund the acquisition consideration of around $28.5m through a mix of debt and internal cash.

In a statement, OCBC Investment analyst Joseph Ng said, "We are positive on this accretive announcement, as pro forma FY16 DPU would have risen from 8.47 S-cents to 8.54 S-cents, while the initial rental yield of 10.0% is also slightly higher than that of the last 3 acquisitions."

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
