SGX to begin planning ahead of CEO transition

Loh said they have a ‘clear strategic direction’ to push SGX further.

SGX Group CEO Loh Boon Chye announced a discussion with Chairman Koh Boon Hwee to begin plans for the CEO role transition at the 27th Annual General Meeting on 23 October.

He said his contract runs until mid-July 2027, adding that there is ample time for planning. He has not yet set a specific transition date.

Loh said this comes from a position of strength, as SGX now have a foundation for the future and the opportunity to plan for its next phase of growth.

Loh shared how SGX now have a more diversified business, renewed stock market momentum, global franchises in derivatives and FX and several engines of growth.

He said the group has a clear strategic direction, a capable leadership team and momentum to take SGX much further in the future.

“We have built the foundations to aim higher, move faster, and achieve much more. I want us to accelerate our growth, expand our global reach and take SGX to a new level,” he said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
