SWDA launches connect touchpoint for integrated workforce support

The agency also unveiled over 200 AI courses and an employers’ portal.

The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) launched a new careers and skills service touchpoint, along with other initiatives, to support Singapore’s workforce.

The new Connect by SWDA at the Lifelong Learning Institute will provide individuals with personalised careers and skills support whilst offering employers advice on workforce development.

The service combines the former Lifelong Learning Exploration Centre and Careers Connect, which were operated by Lifelong Learning Singapore and Workforce Singapore respectively.

The initiative was announced during the SkillsFuture Festival 2026 on 16 September.

Other key measures include a catalogue of more than 200 artificial intelligence (AI) courses and a complimentary six-month subscription to selected premium AI tools.

Meanwhile, an AI Ready Quiz, developed with the Singapore Institute of Technology, will allow individuals to assess their AI readiness and identify relevant courses for upskilling.

For employers, SWDA has launched OurWorkforce, a one-stop portal that combines training and workforce development programmes and offers customised recommendations.

Employers will also have access to digital tools for job redesign, workforce transformation, and AI adoption.

The portal replaces the current SkillsFuture for Business website.

SWDA CEO Dilys Boey said that the agency aims to provide more integrated support as jobs, skills, and businesses evolve.

The SkillsFuture Festival 2026 will run until 28 October, featuring more than 140 events focused on career and skills development and workforce capabilities.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
