BTX Anti Wrinkle Treatment

BTX are neuromodulators that work to minimize or get rid of wrinkles caused as a result of muscle contraction by modifying the signals received by the nerves temporarily.

HOW IT WORKS

How BTX Injection Works

Botulinum Toxin works by inhibiting muscle contractions in “problem areas” to smooth and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. BTX can also be used for contouring by relaxing the masseter muscles to produce a more prominent V-line and slimmer appearance.

Is Botulinum Toxin Effective for Wrinkle Removal?

When determining whether Botulinum Toxin can be effective in treating your wrinkles, it is important to first identify the type of wrinkles you have. Dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles that appear with movement, such as when one smiles or frowns) can be treated most effectively with BTX while imprinted wrinkles (wrinkles that can be seen on the face without any movement or expression made) do not respond well with BTX.

Contrary to the belief that BTX is only used when people develop wrinkles, preventive BTX treatments can prevent your muscles from making certain expressions that contribute to formation of wrinkles and fine lines.

Will Botulinum Toxin Make My Face Look Frozen?

There are some common myths surrounding botulinum toxin in Singapore. In actual, BTX can look completely natural when done right. When done inappropriately however, BTX can result in a “frozen” and unnatural looking face. This is caused by BTX that is injected unevenly, over-injected, or injected into the wrong areas. As a result, the face does not quite “follow” the emotions you express – for instance, eyes that do not smile when you are smiling. Such cases of botched BTX will then require correction, resulting in higher costs for the patient.
