AGNES is an acne treatment that can specifically and precisely targets acne-prone follicles on the face without damaging the skin’s epidermis. This treatment kills those nasty sebaceous glands that cause recurrent acne, resulting in a reduction in the size of the gland and the prevention of oil blockage and clogging. By selectively treating problematic pores, it can prevent acne from recurring at the treated areas.

For the procedure, your doctor will first examine your face with a magnifier and identify the specific pores on your skin that are damaged and blocked and are responsible for your acne breakouts. A topical numbing cream is then applied over your face to minimize the discomfort. After this, a small electric current is introduced into these pores using a thin electric wire attached to the AGNES machine. This destroys the oil-producing gland, which reduces its size and will limit the amount of oil production. The removal of overactive oil glands in turn reduces pimples and acne.
Purging and extraction is an important step following AGNES acne treatment. This is done to prevent inflammation from leftover debris formed from the destroyed sebaceous glands.
