FAQs
Can AI help with month-end closing and reporting?
AI can help prepare summaries, draft commentary and consolidate data for recurring reports, which shortens the manual parts of the process. Figures still need to be checked against your source records. The courses focus on using AI well rather than on accounting itself, including how to review AI output before anyone relies on it.
Will these courses help me move into a more strategic finance role?
They can support that move. Spending less time on manual reporting and explaining numbers clearly to stakeholders outside finance are both part of becoming a business partner, and Workplace Communication focuses on the second.
Is it safe to use AI with financial data?
That depends on the tools you use and your organisation’s policies. The courses cover reviewing AI output before relying on it, and Cybersecurity covers data protection and AI platform risks, so you know what to check before sharing sensitive information.
Do I need to be good with technology to take these courses?
No. The courses are designed for non-technical professionals and no coding is needed. If you are comfortable working with spreadsheets and email, you already have what you need to start.
Are funding options available?
Funding support may be available to eligible individuals and organisations. Eligibility, claimable amounts and validity periods vary by course and learner profile. The Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work bootcamps are not eligible for course funding. Refer to the latest course page or speak with OOm Institute before making a decision based on funding.
Will I receive a certificate?
Applicable WSQ courses may award a WSQ Statement of Attainment and an OOm Institute certificate when attendance, assessment and other course requirements are met. You can also earn the Practitioner Certificate in Generative AI or the Professional Certificate in Workplace Effectiveness.
