Cassandra Wong, Counsellor
Pronouns: she / her
Hi! I’m Cassandra, and I’m not here to fix you, because in therapy we look at what you have been through, not what is wrong with you. I am curious about where you have been, and deeply invested in where you want to go.
I believe to be human is to be imperfect, and that is perfectly okay. Throughout our lives, we may live out “scripts”, cast in roles we feel pressured to perform. Along the way, we develop coping styles that sometimes keep us stuck in negative loops.
My work involves supporting adults who want to examine and rewrite old scripts that no longer serve them, to reclaim a life that is uniquely aligned with their needs.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent 20 years as a creative producer in branded content. The stories that stayed with me were hardly the polished ones, they were the rare, unguarded moments when the authentic person beneath the professional exterior came through.
As a counsellor, I now have the privilege of providing my clients with a safe, judgement-free zone to freely explore and make sense of their inner narratives, especially the vulnerable “messy” parts they feel compelled to hide away.
My approach draws from attachment theory and psychodynamic therapy, where I work with you to gain insight on how early relationships and attachment styles have operated below the surface to shape your present patterns and relational style. Alongside this, I integrate tools from CBT, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT to help you notice painful thoughts and feelings as they surface, and develop healthier ways of responding to them.
In addition, I have a special interest in women’s psychological health and wellbeing, and have trained in evidence-based therapeutic support for women experiencing the physiological, psychological and emotional impact of menopause.
Showing up is the first step to rewriting your story. Together we will work at a pace that suits you – with a clear direction, room to adapt, and someone in your corner who will cheer you on and gently challenge you along the way.

English

I am a guardian of two cats with wildly different personalities – a cynical, street-smart female and an affectionate-chaotic male. I am their certified emotional (and life) support human, and they in turn accept my imperfections unconditionally, except when demanding food.
I am also a fan of dystopian fiction, irreverent comedy, and soup of nearly any variety.
